Know all about Florida school shooting

On 14th Feb 2018

A mass shooting occurred at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, in the Miami metropolitan area. Seventeen people were killed and about fifteen were injured. The suspected criminal is Nikolas Jacob Cruz.

The shooting took place during the afternoon of 14Th Feb at school. Nikolas Cruz ordered an Uber and was dropped off at the school. He was carrying a backpack and a long back bag. Cruz very cleverly activated a fire alarm so that he can produce panic among students and staff to shoot more and more out of them. He was armed with Smith & Wesson M&P15 (rifle) and began shooting indiscriminately at students and staff. This shooting lasted for 6 minutes resulting brutal murder of 17 people and 15 got injured.

Nicolas Cruz, a 19-year-old former student at the same school. Earlier an email was issued to him and warned him about his threats against others students, which led the school to ban him from wearing a backpack on campus. He was later expelled from school for fighting with students in school.

Cruz posted social media messages in which he stated his aspiration to become a "professional school shooter" with his AR-15 style rifle. But this wasn't taken seriously by police or officials.

After this incident, the protest started in the city and asking politicians to get things done to prevent more children from dying in shootings rather than just offer condolences. Some of the students have demanded tighter gun control as a course of action.
